That's Not Human !!!!

 

On the night of July 13th 2021 a man driving down a dark country road in North Carolina had a terrifying encounter with an unknown creature...

The driver originally called 911about what he thought was a bloody man on the side of the road, only to scream "That's not human" moments later  when a creature leaped into the back of his moving truck.

The full account is as follows....

The witness called 911 and said he’d just seen a man covered in  blood on the side of a country road, staring back blankly in the dark.

As the dispatcher in Pender County tried to pin down the man’s location — somewhere on NC 210, just over the Black River — a loud thump came over the line.

“What the fuck!” the caller screamed. “That’s not human! That’s not human!

Sir, are you OK, sir?” the dispatcher asked over the driver’s yelling.

“There’s something in the bed of my truck!”

The creature began trying to get into the truck, clawing at the roof. The driver stepped on his breaks and sent it over the roof, he then drove off in a panic.

The dispatch operator seemed almost disinterested and kept asking about the creatures appearance almost trying to play it off as something else...

She ask, What was it?” “I don’t know.”“Like a turkey?” she asks. “A deer? He replied, Turkeys are pretty big.”“That wasn’t a turkey because I was driving 50 miles an hour. A turkey doesn’t hit that hard, and it was not covered in feathers at all.

Deputies later responded to the scene and flew a drone to scout the area, but they did not write an incident report. The NC Highway Patrol took over the investigation, but the paperwork shown in a YouTube video has troopers describing the scratch marks on the truck as being consistent with tree branches. Downplaying the entire event..

The full 11 minute call was released by law enforcement and the sheriff was even on the local news talking about the incident.

“I don’t know for sure what he saw or what he experienced that night, but it was obvious that he was distraught,” said the sheriff, interviewed for Carolina Case Files. “I’m afraid it’s just one of those things in this world that we may not ever know the answer to.

The Moscow Mothman.

The Moscow Mothman is very similar to the North American cryptid of the same name, or possibly even the very same creature. it was  seen  in Moscow in September of  1999. 

Like the Point Pleasant Mothman, it  was described as having large bat-like wings, glowing red  eyes, and a high-pitched scream.

 Who the specific eyewitnesses were and how exactly how many time it was spotted remain  unknown. 

There have also been reports of mysterious  phone calls from unknown persons with warnings related to it at the time 

Some UFO researchers believe that Mothman may have appeared in connection with the Russian apartment bombings that occurred in late August and September of the same year. Furthering the belief that mothman sightings  predict a tragic events yet to happen..

This story was first reported by a Georgian newspaper called Svobodnaya Gruzia. Some still believe it was simply made up by the newspaper to drum up sale's... Though there will always be skeptics regarding anything related to cryptid or the  paranormal. 

Flying cryptids and humanoids are reported in every country around the world, they can't all be made up or misidentifications . people are clearly seeing something odd.

Paranormal Folklore, The 1882 Dragon train attack.

 

Did a Dragon attack a train ???

 A reported attack by a "flying serpent" on a Southern Pacific Railroad train in the Colorado Desert in 1882 is a famous American frontier legend. Several passengers claimed to witness a scaled, roaring creature attacking the train, with the incident later reported by The Illustrated Police News on March 18, 1882, and in other newspapers at the time.

 According to the Los Angeles Times, this is exactly what happened to a Southern Pacific train on Jan. 17, 1882, relayed by the engineer and fireman and corroborated by passengers when the train arrived in Los Angeles that night.

 They said that when the flying snake reached the track, the swiftly moving train clipped off a portion of its tail. This painful offense enraged the enormous serpent and it flew after its steel attacker "two miles faster than chain lightning." 

The angry animal overtook the train in moments and, striking from a position of safety above, "gave the train a lively thrashing, roaring like a cow in distress all the time." As women and children screamed, the beast shattered several windows in its onslaught. 

The serpent then pulled back and sailed off. Given a moment to recover, several passengers upholstered their pistols and unleashed a shower of lead after the beast as wind whistled past the damaged window frames. The bullets, if they hit their target at all, had no effect as the monster winged its way back across the desert sands. "This is vouched for by everyone who was on the train, and is given or what it is worth," stated the Times.

There were several other Dragon, Flying Serpent, Thunderbird/Terodactyl  sightings throughout 1800's, many will claim they were nothing more then tall tales or exaggerated Folklore, but given some of the eyewitnesses testimonials,  it still seems like people were truly witnessing something strange in the same way we still have so many modern cryptid and ufo sightings today.

What would you do if you where just minding your own business trying to strick it rich when all of the sudden you see a giant rabbit... 

Apparently prospectors lived this exact situation.


These massive cryptids from the Australia where first reported by gold prospectors, who claimed to have seen giant rabbits anywhere from  nine feet and possibly up to twelve feet high that could move  at extreme speeds. the original source for these reports, which were first mentioned by Ivan T. Sanderson, is unknown, though likely came from retellings of previous stories thought the years .

Some believe these giant rabbits were actually living diprotodons not actually massive bunny's but an ancient species of  giant kangaroos

Or Sthenurine Kangaroos: Experts like Christine Janis and Karl Shuker believe sightings were possibly  Sthenurus or Procoptodon, extinct, short-faced, large-forearmed kangaroos that may have resembled very large rabbits.

Diprotodon was  less lily to bed confused with a large rabbit as it was a a rhino-sized, wombat-like marsupial that went extinct thousands of years ago.

To this day, nobody truly knows what was seen by the prospectors or what still roams in the vast Australian outback.

 In 1965, a Utah man reported seeing two giant rabbits in Washington County, this is just one of the many local folklore tale that contributes to the area's history of cryptid sightings, (Bigfoot, The Bear Lake monster, Skninwalkers and more). 

These creatures are sometimes described in as being as large as cows or having unnatural, "monster" proportions.

Similar tales of, “monster rabbits,” have also been reported in Australia, where they were believed to be, “living diprotodonts,” or large, “sthenurine kangaroos / Giant Kangaroos.

Paranormal, Easter Bunny 🐰...Or is it?...

 

  

For many people Easter is a joyous occasion, family gatherings, a long weekend and for kids it also means a visit from the Easter bunny. But what if I hat sweet little rabbit is more then he seems?

For most people Easter is celebrated around the world as a religious holiday commemorating the resurrection  of Christ.

But for others especially children it's a time of excitement and anticipation as they await the arrival of the Easter bunny and a basket of goodies . Colorful eggs and chocolate delivered by a kind magical bunny.

 what's not to like about that!

All fun and games, right?

However, for years now there have been sightings of a "Easter Bunny"  that is a lot creepier then common depiction would suggest.

Many have claimed too see a large human or near human sized rabbit, sometimes with intimidating red eyes and sharp teeth not exactly the kind and cuddly bunny we often think of.

Now, many would argue that what is being seen is nothing more then a prankster in a costume or a young child's imagination going a bit overboard. However some of these sightings seem to exhibit supernatural qualities like the  human sized bunny appearing out of nowhere or having ghost like  abilities ranging from  being semi transparent or walking through walls sometimes even disappear at a moments notice.

If these sightings where only a few that would be one thing, but there have been similar accounts around the world. Some believe this is a coincidence or possibly even a form of mass hallucinations. Other believe it to be a type of tulpa.

A tulpa is a creature created by thought alone either by a intense   concentration by an individual or through mass beliefs by a large number of people. Basically if enough people believe in something it is essentially willed into existence ... Though they are hard to control and often dangerous as they will eventually take on a will of their own...

Others claimed this is nothing more then an  urban legend, in any case it's still interesting to think the simple fact that people believe is enough to make it a reality.

In America, the original Easter Bunny tradition we celebrate today can be traced back to German immigrants who  brought there Folklore and tradition with them, in pagan times the rabbit was a sign of spring and fertility along with the egg. During the christianization of Europe many pagan customs where incorporated to gain more followers. The original Easter Bunny was the Osterhase Easter Rabbit .

The Angelo Saxon Goddess of spring fertility was called Ostara or Eostre her symptoms were the egg and the hare representing fertility. The colored eggs and bunny are still used to this day in our Easter celebration.

And modern pagans still hold a festival for the Goddess Eostre during the spring equinox.

The Beast of Seven Chutes

 

In June of 1995 a man sightseeing in Quebec snapped 76 photos and made 4 videos of an area known as Parc des 7 Chutes, or Seven Chutes Park, near Saint-Georges de Beauce, Quebec. While looking through the pictures, something odd caught his eye in photo number 32. 

When he enlarged the photo, he noticed a tall brown figure with a baboon like snout standing in the tree's looking up at him. 

Not only that, it also seemed to be holding a white dog.

He had not seen it when he took the pictures. The photographer (who wishes to remain anonymous) went back to the area and had photos taken with a man standing in the same spot for comparison, as well as to see if there could be another explanation.

Whatever was in the photo that day was much larger then the man .

Some people claim the photos show nothing more than an odd rock formation however other photos of the area do not support this claim.

Others suggest it's a case of pareidolia, the phenomena of seeing faces or other distinct images in objects such as clouds, tree formations ect. 

The picture shows a large bipedal Bigfoot like  creature (gugwe /face eater)   or possibly a werewolf/dogman .

Winter Cryptids: The Snow Wasset

🏔️The Snow Wasset ❄️

The Snow Wasset this cryptid is  a legless white fured creature that spends most of its life underground, only coming to the surface to eat.

It became a popular story with lumper jacks during the pioneer days.

This winter weather cryptid can be found mostly in Canada in the forest between the Great Lakes and Hudson Bay.

Though it dose travel for the seasons similar to birds flying south, the Wasset prefers to spend the summers in the far north  where it hibernates  during the warm summer season,  during the winter its fur is white as snow but in the summer its hair turns green and it sometimes curls up in a cranberry marsh or some other cool place to sleep.

It will also grow small legs in the summer to help it slowly move along.

Once the weather starts getting cooler and the first strong snowstorm hits, it sheds its legs and starts moving  south. It travels in the winter like a dolphin in the ocean, dipping in and out of  the snow. It also uses this method to hunt the burrowing grouse, rabbits and other varmine hiding in the snow. Later in the winter, when food becomes scarce and more difficult to obtain, even wolves are on the menu.

 The Wasset has a massive appetite, comparable to an angry wolverine, but  at least four times as big and several times as active.

The only Wasset ever examined by non Indians was a mostly intact one seen by  a group of surveyors in James Bay who happened to encountered an Indian in an odd looking  canoe,  the canoe was said to be made out of a stretched out Wasset hid. There we're no leg holes in the white pelt and it was long enough to make a one man canoe. Sleds are also made from its pelt.

Capturing a Wasset  is tricky, because it's underground and you can never by quit sure which direction it's head is facing. You need a large amount of logs. Then you bait an area and set a tigger. The trigger is set so that a dozen or more  logs fall in from all sides at once  toward the bait, pinning the animal under the snow wherever he may be hiding.

In the 2015 horror themed remake of Fearsome Creatures, the Snow Wasset is a lot more furry and its head is more doglike. 

The Snow Wasset is considered to be the second toughest fearsome creature after the Hodag, but despite its carnivorous diet, the Snow Wasset is not a threat to humans during the summer , but only in the summer time, in the winter its a different story and we are on the menu.

 The Wasset's meat is  edible and "safe " to eat( Not toxic or poison), even when raw. However, the Snow Wasset, is said to regenerate (comeback to life) even if it's just a skeleton so you may have one burrow out from your stomach if eaten.

. Its scientific name is Serpentoformus ferox.

Japanese Bigfoot,The Hibagon 👣🇯🇵

It seems that every country or at least most have a version of a hairy manlike cryptid that roams the forests or mountains ..

North America's Bigfoot/Sasquatch the Rock Apes of Vietnam, the Yeti of the Himalayas and so on..

Well Japan is no exception, the Japanese version is called the Hibagon..

The first reported sighting was in Hiroshima Prefecture in what is now Shobara City during July of 1970.

FIRST SIGHTING...

July 20, 1970, that a man in his 30s said he saw from his car an unusual two-legged creature walking down a mountain road in the Yuki district in the former town of Saijo, now incorporated into the city of Shobara, before it slowly retreated back up the trail after noticing it was being watched.

Second and third Sighting..

A man who was cutting grass near his home early in the morning of July 23, three days after the first sighting, claimed to have seen a creature in a grassy area with a "human face." 

Another man on July 30 called out to a person whom he believed was a relative walking along a footpath to a rice field, but it turned out to be a "gorilla-type monster.

In 1971 the government special office to take reported sightings this continued until about 1975 when the sightings started to drop eventually leading to the office being shutdown there were a total of 29 local sightings from 1970-75.

Later sightings of a similar creature took place  in the neighboring city of Yamano, it was called the yabagon it was sighted infrequently for a few years leading people the believe the Hibagon had simply moved to a new location however the yabagon seemed to have disappeared too as it has not been spotted since 1980.

It's believed to live near Mount Hiba in the Chūgoku Mountains. 

Like Bigfoot/Sasquatch the Hibagon walks upright on two legs, standing about 5 -6 feet or up to 1.5 meters tall and very muscular build for it's size.

Eyewitnesses have described the unidentified figure as resembling a gorilla covered in dark brown bristles

 Their bodies are completely covered in black, gray, or dark brown hair.

 Their faces resemble an inverted triangle, and they have bulging eyes that slant upwards. Their voices resemble a dolphin’s call.

There are many theories on what the hibagon actually was.

Some suggest it was a  large Japanese macaques, black bears, a humans in a suit or possibly an  alien being but no one is entirely sure...

The sightings eventually got the attention of the local authority's and media. Leading to a newspaper article..

A former reporter, then Shobara bureau chief of the Chugoku Shimbun, who wrote the article, was quoted in the Hiroshima-based daily as saying, "I didn't take the first call seriously because I thought it was just a hoax, but then I got another call from someone else who gave an eyewitness account."

After meeting separately with the three eyewitnesses to hear and compare their stories, the reporter said all appeared shaken up, with one saying, "I can't live here anymore." Another complained of people accusing him of "faking" the story and not believing him.

A footprint that was cast in 1970

A plaster cast of "footprint" believed to belong to the Hibagon was cast on December 16, 1970 and was kept in the chief's office of the Shobara Police Station, which is part of the Hiroshima Prefectural Police.

the Shobara Police Department has donated the footprint to the tourism association, which moved it to JR Bingo-Saijo Station.

 The tourist association used the donation as an opportunity to start recruitment for a "Hibagon Explorers" fan club that has seen about 40 people from around Japan join.

A tour of the mountain road where the first sightings took place was planned for may 2024.

Today the Hibagon has become a symbol of the town, and signs with its  likeness can be seen everywhere.

Tennessee, Class A bigfoot encounter

 

First hand account from Lawrenceburg TN.

 My husband and I saw a what we believe to be a Sasquatch on the night of June 12, 2021. We were driving home together with our daughter at approximately 9:30 PM when we turned onto our street. Mind you, we live in the deep country side outside of Lawrenceburg Tennessee.

My husband turned the wheel slightly to turn onto our street and there was an animal with fingers touching something on the ground, picking at it with its fingers. When the animal saw our headlights turning, it intentionally averted the headlights and ducked underneath them.

It was only about five feet from the front of our vehicle at one point when we turned toward it. It was fully in the headlights.

The animal bounded across our neighbors yard. It did not run on two feet the way a human would. We thought the animal was a gorilla at first because of its movements but it looked extremely human like. It bounded with its front legs in the same way that a gorilla does except it’s arms were so long and it moved unbelievably fast.

Of course we considered that it could have been a person dressed in a hairy costume but it moved way too fast to be a person. It was definitely not a bear. It was more like a gorilla or person covered with hair. It was covered in dark brown or black hair.

The animal cleared our neighbors 250-300 foot grass lawn in about six seconds and then it disappeared from view. Our daughter who is four did not see the animal as she was playing on her iPad.

When we pulled up to our house a minute later I was absolutely terrified to get out of the vehicle because we had no idea what we had seen, and because it was so fast that it could have turned around and been to our house in about 10 seconds.

I got up the courage to run to my house door and unlocked it and we all ran inside. We were terrified.

We both saw the animal, however it was my husband who saw that it had fingers and it was observing something on the ground. I did not see that part. I just saw the part where it started to run and when it cleared our neighbors lawn.

We had considered that maybe it was a bear but it was too ape like to have been a bear and it was too fast and slim and did not run on all four of its legs exactly the way a bear would have.

Viking Folklore: Margygr

 

Viking Folklore: Margygr the Norse mermaid.

In Norse mythology, the margygr is a large mermaid like creature that's believed to live off the coast of Greenland.

Unlike later mermaid legends where the mermaid is beautiful,  this creature is described as either unnerving and hideous or strikingly beautiful both and forms always leaves it's witness's in aw/shock.

Like most mermaid sightings the Margygr is a human fish hybrid, most of the time she has the top half of a beautiful  large breasted long haired woman with webbed hands with a fish like appearance from the waist down, though she is much larger then a normal mermaid. 

In other accounts she's described as a giant terrifying and grotesque creature.

 Margygr translates to "Sea Giantess" or "Sea spirit". 

The Vikings considered these being to be more of a force of nature or powerful spirit then an actual creature, some would even pray to it for a safe voyage before they set sail. 

Sightings are rare,but when it is  spotted it's always  before a powerful storm and can be either beneficial and helpful to sailors or harmful and violent.  .

Wyoming wolfman.

Eyewitness Dogman sighting in  Boulder Wyoming..

My name is Ken, 8 years ago my brother Jon was heading home from his girlfriends house off a county road outside of Boulder 11 miles south of Pinedale Wyoming. 

It was around 1 or 2 am when he saw what he said was a huge dog traverse down the slope on the south side of the road and commense to run along side his pickup.

 He was driving a 69-70 Ford F150 highboy which came from the factory lifted. The dogman was running with him at 35-40 mph. 

Theres a 2-3ft barrow ditch running along the road and the dogmans head was level with his as he was driving so Jon puts its height at 7 to 8 ft. 

It was dark in color with grey or white on its muzzle running from its nose to under its eyes which were amber in color. 

He sped up to 45 and the dogman kept up with him often looking inside the pickup. He said at around 50mph he lost it and thats all he would tell me.

Bozeman Bigfoot..

 

First hand account of  a Bigfoot sighting off US191 near Bozeman Montana in 1993.

Witness account.....

Two friends and I were backpacking in the summer of 93'. We were going to hike the Gallatin divide that summer, one weekend at a time. We started south of Bozeman and planned to finish in Yellowstone latter that summer. This was our third weekend and it being a Sunday we were hiking out to our car which was parked at the Portal Creek access. It was getting late in the day and it looked like some weather was rolling in.

We were coming down the west side of windy pass so we decided to double time it so we weren't exposed in the weather. We didn't make it to the tree line before the storm hit us. The wind was howling and a nasty mix of rain/hail came down on us. When we were well enough below tree line we decided to sit out the storm by this rock out cropping. Wind whipping through the hills, especially in a rocky area like this, has a very distinct sound. It seemed like there was something else in that in that howl. Something that didn't quite sound like it was part of the wind. No one commented on it but I could tell by how Dan and Kevin were looking around that they heard it too.

After about 45 minutes the wind died a bit and only a slight drizzle was falling. We started hiking back down, the clouds were clearing and it looked like we were gonna get a good view of sun setting over the Spanish peaks. We were coming through this clearing that had been cut maybe ten years ago. The sun was almost out of sight when we heard some thrashing across the clearing. It could have been almost anything but since we were in bear country Kevin took out his .357; not enough to stop a determined grizzly, but it was better than nothing. We proceeded slowly across the clearing. It was maybe a hundred yards towards to older tree line, with a lot of scrub and young pines in between. I was looking up for circling carrion when I heard this howl. It sounded like what I had heard earlier but now the wind wasn't behind it. It sent a chill up my spine. Dan, who was behind me yelled something to the effect of "holy shit" and pointed off to our right. Something massive and dark and clearly running on two legs ran through the brush about sixty yards away and disappeared into the forest. I don't think any of us moved or spoke for about five minutes until we heard the howl (yell?) again (this time pretty far off and in the opposite direction than we were heading) We got out of there in a hurry.

We didn't tell too many people about this when we got back to town. We did return back to Portal Creek access the next weekend to start our hike again and I've been back to that area several times since hunting or just out of curiosity and I've never heard or seen anything unusual.

Bigfoot in the Piney Woods

 

First hand account in East Texas piney woods.

This encounter taks place roughly 24 miles from Lufkin off hwy 103 in 1996

My wife and I set out for  an overnight camping trip in the country. I go hiking and camping fairly often and my wife sometimes accompanies me on my outings. This time we went about 30 miles southeast from where we live, in Nacogdoches to some remote family-owned land.

 Our land is on a small blacktop county road and few people live there. Only one neighbor lives close by, an old woman across the road. The road parallels Sam Rayburn reservoir for several miles and is a short distance from it at this point. It was late afternoon when we arrived there. Wildlife are plentiful in this area, with deer, bobcat, hogs, etc. and since I occasionally would hunt deer there, I put out some corn for them to get ready for season and then we set up our camp. We have a small storage building that family and friends use to sleep in on our hunting and camping outings. After we were set up for the night, I started a fire about five yards away from the building to roast hot dogs on. It was beginning to get dark at this time. We have a camcorder that we always take on our trips and I filmed the outing. 

I remembered that as it had gotten dark, dogs could be heard across the nearby road, barking like crazy. Up to this point I filmed everything, but since I was getting hungry, I stopped to make me some supper.

 My wife was sitting down on a makeshift chair and I was at the fire. Suddenly, a loud howl, or hoot came from a nearby creekbottom, a distance of about 70 yards. The sound is best described as a "WOO-WAAH" sound. It was very loud and sounded almost baboon-like, but also much like a human's vocal chords. We were both shocked by the piercing sound, but before we could react, whatever it was came to within approximately 8 yards and screamed again. My wife jumped from her chair sideways and ran to the shed spraining her ankle in the process. 

I didn't know what the sounds were, but I am sure they were NOT deer, hogs or hoot owls, or anything else that I have EVER heard. I could not be sure if it was not some prankster, although someone would risk getting shot coming to a person's camp at night like that. I ran to the shed to get my pistol which I always carry on our outings, all the while the "animal" screamed the same sound in rapid succession, about 7 times in all.The sound emanated from behind a pile of tree limbs placed there on previous outings.

 I went to the edge of our camp and shined my flashlight into and around the pile and held my pistol ready, but no more sounds were heard. I couldn't see any eyes shining in my flashlight beam either. Even though we were a little unnerved by the event, I planned to go ahead and make our beds for the night, but my wife's ankle was beginning to swell and she was in pain, so we packed our things and went back home. I have gone back a few times since then, but have not noticed anything strange. So if it wasn't a bigfoot, fine I just don't really know what it was. All the experienced outdoorsmen I have talked to about the sounds say they have never heard anything like them either.

The two decided to leave the area after hearing the unsettling vocalizations and realizing that the wife’s ankle was quite possibly sprained. The wife remarked that she has not returned to the site since, nor will she ever go back in the future.

There have been several Bigfoot sightings in the Texas Big Thicket and Sam Houston National Forest

This sightings takes place June 22,2014 in the early morning, an eyewitness claimed to to see what could only be described as a large male sasquatch.

First hand account....

 I was on my way to my work yard in New Caney Texas. It was very cloudy that morning with heavy dew rising. I was driving the speed limit 35mph looking for local wildlife like I do every morning. I might add this area is thickly wooded, but also is dotted with many homes. The area is also close to the river. I noticed a very tall shadowy figure approaching a group of cows with a calf. It was at least 8 to 9' tall and about 48 to 50" wide at the shoulders. I slowed down as much as possible. It saw my brake lights and turned to look at me. I am a good judge of distance for I am a bow hunter and I estimated it to be 45 to 50 yards away. It had a long sloping forehead and very defined brow ridge. I could not tell what color its hair was but I noticed a long beard and its arms hung down to almost his knees. I struggled to get my phone out to take a picture by the time I got it out it turned and walked into the woods. I think it might have been going for the calf. There are many water sources in that area and abundant wildlife in those woods. 

The sighting location was a cleared out pine forest that had been turned into pasture for cows. Very close to a major river water source, the San Jacinto river. Many stock ponds and private ponds can also be found in this area.

Follow up statement/claim.

Witness said the creature stood entirely upright and was not crouching or bent over. The creature's hands were straight down, hanging to about its knees. He describes the creature's hands as huge, "large enough to palm a watermelon". He assumed the creature was male due to its enormous size and lack of female anatomy.

The head was huge, with a sloping forehead and a broad, pronounced brow. Nothing particular was mentioned about the eyes and there was no visible neck, just head atop massive shoulders. 

The creature was almost entirely one dark color - like blackish - and very hairy. The only area that was not covered in thick black hair was the chest area... That area was either a lighter color hair or the hair was thinner, exposing more skin.

A unique observation was that the creature had a distinct beard. It was the same color as the rest of the hair, started just below the cheeks and extended to the chest area. described as very distinct and scraggly.

He said the creature seemed to notice him when he applied the brakes. The witness feels the creature saw the bright LED brake lights. It watched the witness as he pulled to a stop, then calmly turned and walked back in the other direction. The witness made a point of saying it walked calmly, did not run, in casual, long strides. It walked near a farm house and disappeared into the woods behind it without turning around again.

Interestingly, the cows never seemed alarmed or afraid.

The witness was unable to follow on foot because it was private property clearly marked as no trespass.

The sighting area described as being surrounded by ripe, seeding, wild sunflower plants. After a brief time, the witness drove the short distance to work, but said he didn't tell his coworkers as "things like this might be embarrassing".

Scotland's Deadly Giant Serpent: The Beithir

 

The beithir is a large deadly serpent, possible even a wingless dragon with a poisonous sting.

It lives in  caves and valleys.


 If a person is stung by the beithir then he must head for the closest  river or loch. If he can reach it before the beithir does then he is cured, but if the monster reaches it first then the victim is doomed. Another cure for the sting is water in which the head of another snake has been placed. 

The beithir is considered one of the fuath, a general term for various monsters and spirits associated with water.

 

Fuath (plural fuathan, meaning “hate” in Scottish Gaelic) refers to a type of evil water spirits in Highland Gaelic mythology. These spirits are believed to inhabit the sea, rivers, lakes, and sea lochs of Scotland and Ireland.

In Gaelic folklore, any being that frequently changes its shape is of evil origin. The case of the Fuath confirms such thinking. A Fuath can sometimes be seen, if it chooses to take on a physical appearance. Most fuathan have the power of transforming themselves in many things even angels of light. They use this power to trick their victims but they are generally found out in the long run. Most often, they present themselves as humanoid creatures, with green skin and the mane and tail of a yellow horse.

It makes its home in large mountainous caves and (valleys)  and has an extremely  venomous sting.

A common belief is that if a normal snake is killed then the head must be separated a proper distance from its body and destroyed. Otherwise, both parts will come together and the snake will return to life as a beithir. 

 

John Gregorson Campbell in 1900 provided an account of the beithir:

The big beast of Scanlastle in Islay was one of this kind. It devoured seven horses on its way to Loch-in-daal. A ship was lying at anchor in the loch at the time, and a line of barrels filled with deadly spikes, and with pieces of flesh laid upon them, was placed from the shore to the ship. Tempted by the flesh, the "loathly worm" made its way out on the barrels and was killed by the spikes and cannon

John Francis Campbell in 1890 recounted a traditional story about a wicked stepmother who was the wife of an Irish king, and she gave the king's son a magic shirt that was a beithir in disguise. As long as the "great snake" remained coiled about his neck, the prince was under his stepmother's enchantment, but he was eventually freed from the beithir with the help of a wise woman.

This Serpent is most often sighted on summer nights when lightning strikes occurred
