Frank Shaw - a NASA archivist at Houston's Johnson Space Center - claimed to have had a terrifying night time encounter with an ominous creature . 

 There is very little information available for this encounter, however Shaw's daughter, Desiree, would eventually reveal  details of her father's sighting  to author Nick Redfern in 2004. Desiree testified that she first realized that something was dreadfully wrong when her father returned home late one night after working at the space center. While neither Desiree, nor her mother, were particularly alarmed by Shaw's tardiness - as he often was required to work into the wee hours - they were both dismayed by his alarmingly apprehensive demeanor. The pair attempted to comfort Shaw, who was eventually able to compose himself enough to regale them with a terrifying tale of his brush with the unknown. ...

The Interview..

April  9 2004..

Redfern interview with  Desiree Shaw, Frank’s daughter. According to Desiree, her father (who was an archivist, not an engineer), saw the gargoyle in 1986. Redfern described the encounter in his book based on Desiree’s recollections of her deceased father’s tale.

While walking to his car that night, he had seen, to his complete and utter horror; perched on a nearby building, a large man-like figure that was utterly black in color, and that seemed to have a large cape draped across its shoulders and back, with two huge wing-like appendages sticking out of the cape. Looking more bat-like than bird-like, the wings made a cracking noise as they slowly flapped in the strong howling wind. The creature . . . had clearly realized it had been seen. Not only that, Shaw gained the very distinct impression that the beast was actually relishing that it had been noticed, and was even seemingly deriving pleasure from the fact that it had struck terror into the heart of Shaw.

Thought not surprisingly NASA claims to know nothing about this sighting..

...Sorry, never heard of it, and I’ve been here 37 years (since 1986),” read the one-sentence reply from Kelly O. Humphries, Johnson Space Center News Chief....

As Frank crossed the parking lot on the way to his car when he happened to throw a glance at one of the nearby buildings. Sitting on top of the building was a monstrous creature which Shaw could only describe as resembling one of the gargoyles which adorn many churches and other buildings dating from Europe’s medieval period. Shaw quickly realised that the gargoyle was staring directly at him, and had the distinct impression that it was taking great pleasure in the terror that it had instilled in him.

After a few moments of staring at each other, the gargoyle began to slowly unfurl its large wings with a sound like dried paper; this act seemed to break the almost hypnotic state that Shaw had been in, and he ran to his car and fled the scean.

Although initially reluctant to report what he had seen to his superiors, the effect of this encounter on Shaw began to get the better of him, and he eventually told  his story to one of his supervisors. Though to his surprise, he  was informed that the gargoyle had been sighted by other employees at the Johnson facility, and was in fact believed to have been behind the brutal mutilation and exsanguination of a pair of the bases’ German Shepherd guard dogs. He was also told that a secret file had been opened on the entity, but if such a document exists it has never been made available to the public.

After making his report and moving on with his daily life,he believing this to be the end of his ordeal, So it came as a surprise when he was called  in for a Talk with "NASA security people flown in from somewhere in Arizona,” who proceeded to interrogate him intensively on his experience and make it very clear that he and his family would do well to keep the matter to themselves (see "Men in Black"). This may be the reason why this encounter has taken so long to come to public attention.

To this day, NASA have neither confirmed nor denied the existence of the creature sighted by Shaw and the other employees.

Electric People: Slavisa Pajkic -The Human Battery

                       ..Slavisa Pajkic the human battery also referred to as the  Electric Man..

Electricity is all around us, our daily lives would not be the same without it, but did you know

every year roughly 100,000 people in the United States alone are treated for electrocution; most of them with serious burns.

It is also estimated that up to 60 people will die from electric shock every year on average
.
However Slavisa Pajkic, seem’s to be the exception he is also known as “the battery man for a reason.

He can withstand incredible levels of  high voltage current without so much as a burn on his skin.

It is almost hard to believe that Slavisa Pajkic had a normal every day childhood, having been born and raised in Serbia’s Pozarevac County.

His childhood may have been unremarkable and normal but his adult life would be anything but.
He discovered his unusually amazing ability at the age of 17 and has had a remarkable relationship with electricity ever since.

Those who have seen him in action will attest to the fact that he seems to become one with electricity.
This is evidenced by the fact that he can withstand voltage as high as 20,000 when all it would take to seriously injure a human is 50 volts.

His ability has set him two Guinness records; in 1983 and in 2003.

His ability has seen him set two world records. His first record was set in 1983 when he was able to take 20,000 volts of electricity without sustaining any injuries to his person.

His second world record came in 2003. This time he was able to conduct electricity for long enough to heat a cup of water to about 97 degrees Celsius (206.6 F). It took just over 1 minute and 37 seconds to do this.

He claims to be a conductor, an insulator, a heater or an accumulator of electricity depending on what he wants to do or what is expected of him.

What is even more strange is the fact that scientist seem to be unable to figure out exactly what it is that enables him do all of these things.

This is after numerous rounds of laboratory tests and exames.

He can also store electricity in his body and release it at will as evidenced by the many times he has set an alcohol-soaked cloth on fier just be touching it.

There are some scientists that claim he has a genetic disorder that may explain why he does what he does.

They explain that because he doesn’t have sweat or salivary glands, electricity is able to pass through his outer skin that acts as insulation. These claims however, remain unproven.

We don’t believe this is something that someone could “learn” to do. In fact it would be outright foolish to even try. With this in mind we are going to say his power is genetic.

Slavisa Pajkic is no ordinary person; that much is evident.

There may be others like him in the world and if there are, it may be prudent for the scientific community to understand exactly how he is able to accomplish these dangerous feats with little injury.

His ability may even have some practical applications. But, it is the fact that he is different that makes him all the more special.

His courage in demonstrating his abilities can be an inspiration and motivation to other people who are different to also make themselves known.

It is never a good idea to try to do what he does, but he teaches us that it is advantageous to embrace your unique abilities even if they seem weird.

Unexplained Fire's and Poltergeists.

Poltergeist and Firestarters....

In November 1890, in Thorah, near Toronto, Canada, strange things started to happening around a 14 year-old girl named Jennie Bramwell, She was  the adopted daughter of a farmer, Mr. Dawson, and his wife. Jennie had been ill and gone into a trance, will in this trance she could be heard crying out 'Look at that!' well pointing to a ceiling which was on fire. Shortly after, to the amazement of Mr. and Mrs. Dawson, she pointed to another fire. The following day numerous fires broke out around the house; as soon as one was put out, another started. In one instance while Mrs. Dawson and the girl were seated facing a wall, the wallpaper suddenly caught fire, Jennie's dress then burst into flames and Mrs. Dawson burnt her hands extinguishing the fire. Fires continued to break out in the house for a whole week. A report in the Toronto Globe, for November 9th,1890,  described charred pieces of wallpaper, which looked as if they'd been burned using a blazing lamp.  The situation soon  became unbearable, at one point all the furniture was moved into the front  yard, and Jennie was blamed for the fires, she was sent back to the orphanage shortly after..... With her leaving, the phenomena stopped.

The reporter from the Toronto Globe depicted her as 'a half-witted girl [who] had walked about the house with a match, setting light to everything she came across.' However, he had difficulty explaining exactly how the fire on the ceiling, and those on the walls had been started. Charles Fort, describing the case, commented wryly - 'I'll not experiment, but I assume that I could flip matches all day at a wall, and not set wallpaper afire.'

Then in January 1895 strange fires started in the house of an out of work carpenter named Adam Colwell in Brooklyn, New York. The fires were investigated by the police and firemen who witnessed furniture burst into flames with no apparent  explanation  and subsequently reported that the cause of the fires was unexplained. 

Thought the Fire Marshall suspected the Colwells adopted daughter, Rhoda, of  playing some part starting the flames. He stated that 'It might be thought that the child Rhoda started at least two of the fires, but she can not be considered guilty of the others, Because she was being questioned, when a few of them started. the Fire Marshall " I do not want to be quoted as a believer in the supernatural, but I have no explanation to offer, as to the cause of the fires, or of the throwing around of the furniture."

Mr. Colwell stated that on the afternoon  of January 4th will in the company of his wife and stepdaughter Rhoda, a crash was heard - a large, empty stove had fallen over, four pictures also fell off the walls. Shortly afterwards a bed caught fire, a policeman was called who saw wallpaper start to burn. Another fire started and a heavy lamp fell from a hook onto the floor. The house burned to the ground and the family, who had lost everything apart from their clothes, were taken to the police station. Captain Rhoades, of the Greenpoint Precinct said that he could attribute the strange fires to 'no other cause than a supernatural agency.'

However, a man named  Mr. J.L. Hope from Flushing, Long Island, went to see Captain Rhoades and told him that Rhoda had worked for him as a housemaid and, between November 19th and  December 19th, four mysterious fires had broken out. This was enough to convince the Captain of Rhoda's guilt in the present  case as well, and she was warned to admit the truth. Frightened, she admitted  that she had started the fires as she disliked the place she lived and wanted to get away. The girl had also knocked the pictures off the walls and dropped matches into the beds, continuing, even after the police, firemen and detectives arrived at the house.

Though the police Captain had previously thought the fires 'supernatural' he now had a natural explanation in Rhoda's now well-attested fire-starting tendencies. The New York Herald ran the story as 'Policemen and firemen artfully tricked by a, young girl.' 

So instead of investigating the fires in Flushing the Captain now satisfied that Rhoda had set the fires simply closed the case.

Sudden fire starting for no apparent reason seems to be connected with poltergeist activity along with the moving of furniture  and banging sounds.... Some, though not all, of the fire-starters seem to be orphans in unhappy situations, and this may, in some cases, explain the motive. But since the methods used to start the fires were  a mystery,  we are still left with the puzzle that certain people seem to posses a seemingly  paranormal ability to unconsciously start fires without any visible
